The Torque Optics Story

It started with a dream. One night Sterling literally saw Jaymie in a dream. The next morning he called up and said, “We’re starting a sunglass company.”

Sterling’s the engineer, obsessed with intentional product design and getting perfect optics.

As a design and manufacturing engineer, Sterling was obsessed with one question: why do sunglasses have to compromise? He spent four years testing hundreds of lens combinations before finding a lens that cuts glare, preserves depth perception, and lets you see every digital screen clearly. That lens is Perfect Polarized™. That obsession is Torque Optics.

Jaymie’s the people guy. He loves learning about others, asking questions, and connecting with consumers.

Jaymie spent 20 years chasing other people's dreams. One day, he decided to stop. He started Torque Optics to build something of his own, leave a legacy for his family, and be present for the people who matter most. His inspiration is his youngest son Nash, who was born with Down Symdrome. A new lens on life is not just a tagline. It’s how Jaymie chooses to see the world.

Together they are building Torque Optics—premium
sunglasses designed for crystal-clear vision.

Giving Back

Torque donates 1% of every sale to four charities chosen by our four founders. Doing well and doing good aren't in conflict — they're the same thing.

As a co-founder of Torque Optics, Jaymie’s journey has been shaped by the strongest little warrior he knows. Jaymie’s son Nash has Down syndrome and has endured four open heart surgeries in the first ten years of life. Those years taught him what true courage looks like, the fear that grips a parent’s heart in a hospital waiting room, and the incredible hope that comes from a supportive community.

That’s why Torque is proudly giving back 1% of all proceeds to charities that make a difference in the lives of others.

Giving back is our way of turning our challenges into purpose and honoring the fighters who inspire us every single day. Thank you for being part of something bigger with us.

Heart Heroes is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families facing congenital heart disease. This cause isn’t just charity to Jaymie — it’s personal. Every pair of sunglasses sold helps fuel support for families walking the same path his family has traveled
